Graduating High School at 16 he began working his first job, other than as a child working with his father, who did manual labor. At 17 he left his first job for a more promising position at a department store, he was always looking for any opportunity to learn more about the clothing industry.  Leaving his house without notice, after family issues he went out on his own. During 2008 and the financial crisis, he lost his job,his vehicle and his home. In mid 2008 he returned home to his family, but with a mindset of not depending on jobs. Growing up with his father who was self-employed and being very creative, he decided to give fashion another try starting a small clothing line, which sold in a few boutiques and skate shops. Within months he made profit, but he was not very convinced, by late 2008 looking at his own wardrobe, his idea became clear, designer fashion. He started making custom orders and leather bracelets, now Haro is a full fashion house, focusing on men and women's ready-to-wear and accessories.   HARO

Your Job? Or Your Belly?

If you finally landed an interview and you have a great résumé; new research suggests that your size may play a bigger role than your résumé.
Students went through in-person interviews, the results were; students with body mass index of 25; the border of normal and overweight, were about 30 % less likely to get an invite to a second interview than their thinner co-applicants. It may be that some interviewers can be prejudice against big people. They might fear (even unconsciously) that their employees will be slow and lazy. This may not all be the interviewers fault; it is also possible that overweight candidates have a poor interview because of they might lack confidence or may be uncomfortable. Whether your overweight or not, if you spend a few minutes before the interview thinking about a time when you kicked some ass and you were in control;can boost your odds of landing the job by about 81%, say psychologists.

Go Clonal On Your Boss

If you have been looking forward to get that promotion; dress like your boss.
In a study conducted by a London-based department store; Debenhams, it is revealed that 68% of managers favor staff with a similar style.
Although the study was conduced by a company that sell stylish clothes for men, following in your bosses footsteps will make you stand out, in any business.
This is called a clonal effect; when the boss picks up on something you both have in common, it creates a connection upon which a professional relation can be built. Good thing is that if your boss does not have a good sense of fashion, you two can form a bond over similarities like sports teams, taste in music or hobbies.
Psychologists say; humans tend to be drawn to people who are like them, since difference can be perceived as threatening. People feel safer when they dress alike.
However, don't blend in have your own signature statement too. Maybe you wear ties in a casual office, or you wear your leather shoes where every one wears trainers.

Lack Of Sleep & Its Risks

Lack of Sleep & Its Risks

With Internet, email, Facebook plus long work shifts; there are more opportunities to do things other than sleep.
There is plenty of evidence that lost sleep is a serious matter. Poor work performance, driving accidents, relationship problems, and mood problems like anger and depression have been linked with sleep deficits by The Sleep in America polls and several other large studies.
Here is a list of serious effects of sleep loss.

 1.        Serious Health Problems
According to studies, 90% of people insomnia also have another health condition. Sleep disorder can put you at risk for:
•        heart disease
•        heart attack
•        heart failure
•        irregular heartbeat
•        high blood pressure
•        stroke
•        diabetes

 2.        Lack Of Sleep Can Make You Dumb
Sleep plays a critical role in thinking and learning. Lack of sleep impairs attention, alertness, concentration, reasoning, and problem solving. During the night, sleep cycles play a role in consolidating memories in the mind. If you don't sleep enough, you wont be able to remember what you learned and experienced during the day.

        3.Kills Sex Drive
Studies show that sleep-deprived men and women report lower libidos and less interest in sex. Low energy, sleepiness and increased tension may be to blame.

 4.        Depression
Over time, lack of sleep and sleep disorder can contribute to the symptoms of depression. People who were diagnosed with depression or anxiety were more likely to sleep less than six hours a night.

        5.Weight Gain
When it comes to weight gain, if you snooze you lose. Lack of sleep is related to an increase in hunger and appetite, and possibly to obesity. Some studies show that people who sleep less than 6 hours a day were almost 30% more likely to become obese than those who slept 7 to 9 hours.

Yes, Women Judge Your Shoes

Many women; in general, are known to be obsessed with shoes. Some guys, unfortunately, are known to leave out of account their footwear.
A survey was conducted by men's footwear brand Allen Edmonds; they surveyed 1,000 American men and women with incomes between $50,000-$200,000. Here are some of the results 64 percent of women judge a man's fashion sense based on his shoes; 52 percent of women say they judge a man's personality by his shoes; 36 percent say they use shoes to determine a man's financial position; and 54 percent say men's shoes reflect a guy's attention to detail or lack of attention to it!.
So, yes, women are judging your shoes. Here are some tips for men to improve their shoe situation.

Cover Your Toes!
Even if you spend most of your morning in a mani-pedi parlor; ditch the sandals. Dude, your toes are not as cute as you think!. If you want to be comfy, you can opt for loafers, boat shoes, or sneakers.

Never Wear Jeans With Shiny Dress Shoes

Although you keep your shiny dress shoes your mother bought you with your first suit; for memories, please keep them in your museum-grade Plexiglas case, and not paired with your loose fit acid washed jeans.

Suede Desert Boots Are Your Friends
These little casual boots will work better than trainers when your not hitting the gym, and are less formal than your leather brogues.

Don't Show Your Tighty Whities (Socks!)
If you like to show a bit of your fun printed or colorful dress socks, by all means do, its in style. However, if you wear refulgent white socks, either be headed to the gym or don't show!

Shoes Match Belt
A good ol' rule for shoes is, match with belt.
Black shoes, black belt. Brown shoes?, brown belt etc. etc..

Contrast-Collar Shirts Comeback

Gordon Gekko made a powerful statement back in '87, this year we are making a fashion statement, with the reinvention of the contrast collar shirt!. With few changes, such as huge collars are gone, loose shirts changed to slim fit, and you no longer have to pair it with wide power suits. Wear one with a cardigan can look stylish and preppy and not uptight. You can choose to wear your shirt with some nice fitting dark jeans on a night on the town.Slim fit chinos, rolled sleeves for a laid back day, or with a bow tie to spice it up.
White collar is the focus of the article, but look out for a few pieces that are more creative with their color choices. Keep it interesting, remember you're not going for a Hostile Takeover on Wall Street.

Your Signature Scent

Why Should one have a signature fragrance? The obvious, pleasant smell, but also people will remember you and be able to register you invisibly if you have an everyday scent. Choosing the fragrance, your potential scent-print should be one that you feel comfortable in, and one that gets you positive reactions.
Get samples, test-drive a few over the week; collect the feedback. The right one will make people enjoy being near you, even a small peck on the neck from a lady friend, and will get comments to that effect. Once you found the one, master the application. Try a single short spray on top of each forearm, one on the neck, and one down the back of your shirt. Before buttoning up, pull the collar back and aim downward. Play with the amount of spraying until you get it right. The scent should not be suffocating, but, should also not be undetectable. Soon you too will have your great smelling invisible ID, just like me. True Story ;-)

Hairstyles We Condone

Here is a list of four hairstyles that are timeless and is the best accessory a gentleman can have.
First is George Clooney, his haircut is very simple and does not have to change, even if trends and his wardrobe were to change.

Second is, Ryan Goslin's hair for Crazy Stupid Love, it is like Clooney's, but a bit shorter and younger look.

Third, and my favorite is David Beckham's hair for his H&M campaign. Is a new fashionable spin on the pompadour.

Our fourth favorite hairstyle, is of model Jon Kortajarena, his hair is like a younger Beckham hair do,

and that's our small list of favorite hairstyles, choose the one that fits your personality, and enjoy!

Hair products that can keep a secret

When I was younger i had two hairstyles, messy cuz I hadnt cut it or bald cuz finally I cut it. As I matured and had a better job i realized i needed to find a hairstyle and finally comb! I tried many things but hair jell, and pomade were not my style, too shiny and middle school. While in the process of finding my style i found two products i cant run out of. They are basically the same, except price. The first one is Axe Whatever Messy Hair Paste, is great holds hair with no shine so it looks like your hair is just obedient all day long!, and its only about 7 dollars , the other product is American Crew Fiber, this product is a more mature version, great hold and matte look, so non of the shiny gel obsessed teenager look! At around 15 dollars.

The Gentleman On A Date

Over the years, I've done my fair share of dating, and a couple things I learned about recognizing a positive outcome, was not necessarily sex, especially when I was looking for a relationship. First, and most obvious, when she accepted a second date. Second and best, while on a phone call with you, she says something along the lines of "we should try this place, has great food" or "we should see this movie, heard good reviews". With that she has just told you not only that she's interested, but that it will happen. Two other things I've gotten from this are, One she suggested a place, so  now leaving it up to you to pop the question, the second good sign is, her vague suggestion. Here you are left to take charge of setting an actual date of when you will be taking her out. Take it this way, you decide when you want to see your woman, or future woman, and when you will be busy being the hard working man she should know you for. Sounds good? Great, now in order for this to happen, let's go back to basics. We need to prepare ourselves to have a successful first date.

To begin, this piece of advice is good pre date, during date especially, and post date. Involve your self in an intellectual level with her. Show class and culture. Let her see that you know what you're taking about and what she is talking about. Have common ground, but leave room for a little friendly debate or difference in ideas. You do not want to be the guy who just agrees with her on everything but don't be an incontestable know it all asshole either.

Aside from an intelligent conversation, it wouldn't hurt to have her chuckle at a clean witty remark or joke. Humor is a great way of engaging her and keeping her interested. Now that you seen her chuckle, go for a laugh, remember to keep it clean and fun. Given the right situation, why not create an inside joke or anecdote, this creates something shared, it creates the presence of a relationship. Teasing is ok , while not offending anyone. However, it is a hard subject, because when teasing and saying a dirty joke, a little too much can be well worth as much as way too much. Sometimes with this risk you reap little reward.

Complimenting can go a long way. Do it right and don't over do it. Complements show you like something about her and you're confident enough to tell her. Over doing it,however, makes you seem needy and too agreeable, not to mention can get creepy.

Your other best friend is confidence. Yes, you wanna be her knight in shining armor, and for her to be there when you need her. However no one wants to feel as if they were babysitting a defenseless child. Have confidence in you word, your appearance, and overall, yourself. Show that your confidence is a good asset and not the burden that is arrogance.

Gaze, don't stare, but gaze, look into each others eyes, make a connection, and hold it for only a second longer than you feel comfortable. It has been scientifically proven that women find a greater psychological attraction to men who can hold their gaze.  Understand the difference between a gaze and a stare though, and don’t let things get weird.

A very important subject I want to touch on, is chivalry, this is a gentlemen's blog, chivalry is our game. Now, let me say, I am an advocate on equality and advancement of both sexes, however chivalry can get anything but old. This means you open doors for her, pull out her chair, offer your coat, and even walk arm in arm if she would like and you allow her up the stairs first, you ask her out and pay for dinner. One thing about this is, if she asks you out, you offer to pay, but you give her the ultimate decision if she wants to pay. If she does, you offer to take her out again, on your dime. This is part of equality and a good relationship.

Always remember to keep the excitement alive, don't be flat and predictable. Make her feel she's at the hands of an action movie hero. You don't necessarily need a chopper bike and leather jacket to be exciting, although it would be cool!. Also, show excitement in things she's interested in. Don't steal the show with your talking. Let her do most of the talking, and pay attention. When you get to talk, steal the show with your very exciting anecdotes and mysterious coolness.

Which brings me to mystery. Excitement and mystery go hand in hand. You always want her with a feeling that she wants to know more about you. If you unveil all about you, what's left to know? If she thinks she knows everything about you, in her mind she will feel like any other dates will be boring and predictable. Since she already heard all your stories. So, remember excite her with your life, but keep some stories in the holster for your next date.

Be the man. Let her wear the makeup and skirts, and you wear the pants and (insert manly thing here…).  A woman may appreciate a sensitive guy, but not an overly sensitive one.  Don’t hide your manliness, let it shine.  Women like men, not boys, not metrosexuals, and not girls.  They want a man to be a man.  So do just that.  Be the man she’s looking for.
To close this article, let me add that your goal here is for more dates and ultimately a relationship. If this works out I'm glad to have helped. Dates and women can be quite unpredictable, so if by any chance you get to have sex on your first date, that is extra point for you my friend. However, if this experience and adventure,if u will, changes your mind and you decide to dedicate your life to sex and one-night stands,we have some tips for you, hold patiently for our next article on just that, before you go and hurt someone with this article. ;D

3 Pairs For Autumn

Recently I found three pairs of shoes that worked very well for me with folded cuff pants and unmatching dress socks. This Autumn do the folded cuffs with these awesome shoes, but this time wear socks for the cold weather, remember to get creative. Wear socks that do not match any other piece of cloth you wear, and no white sports socks!.

First off while I was at Nordstrom's (buying an awesome croc tshirt) I got to try these suede chukkas.
The Ben Sherman 'Aberdeen' Chukka Boot's are suede with textile lining and a rubber sole.

My number two find are these Ralph Lauren fine leather oxfords.
The Sanderson Wingtip Spectator's are crafted with a rich, two-tone leather upper and accented with classic overlay, perforation, and pinked edging details.

Last but not least, the Vans OTW Alomar work boots, now I know that these are more into the skateboarding category. However, the design works with a variety of styles. Plus these might be the most comfortable of the pack.

Stand Out In Camo

Military camouflage, designed to blend into the surrounding area and applied to fatigues and military equipment. Camouflage became an essential part of modern military tactics after the increase in accuracy and rate of fire of weapons. Paradoxically the same camouflage pattern is being used by designers in modern fashion, to stand out from the crowd and make a statement. GL has gathered up some of our favourite designer camo gear. So get your camo on and stop blending into the background.

First up is the Prada Messenger Bag.
This bag comes in a dark forest camouflage colorway, technical flap closure, and antiques silver hardware.($1,230)

D&G made this must have down jacket.

Third another Prada accessory.
The Prada Saffiano camo belt. This belt is definitely worth adding to your wardrobe. Donning a square plated buckle with Prada logo on a swirl design, the belt is accented with silver studs and a belt loop.($470)

Our fourth camo item is from, Cheap Monday.
This shirt is equipped with a vintage camouflage look as well as a rib crew neck.($25)

And last but certainly not least, Rogue Camo Shorts.

Gentlemen In Red

Whether it be a fancy sports car, lingerie or a juicy steak-
many awesome pleasures in life come in red.
So it is no surprise that men respond to a woman wearing red heels
or slinky red dress.
However, to our surprise, a study has shown that this works the other way around as well.
The female gender is instinctively attracted to a man in red
Researchers from the University of Rochester, in New York, asked 300 women to
rate the attractiveness of men in either different colored shirts ,in red or had been photographed
surrounded by a red or white border.
The men were rated on attractiveness and how likely the women
were to engage in sex with them.
The results showed that women rated men who were alongside red hues as more
attractive, powerful and higher in status.
Hey if our fellow Roman Gladiators wore red in combat, why shouldn't a modern gentleman
add some color to his wardrobe. In the process make sure to select items that make look
bold and sexy, not christmassy!

Guide To Drinking Whisky

With this article we do not intend to tell you how to drink your Whisky.
How each person drinks their Whisky should be a choice based on what way they enjoy it the most.
We would just like to give you some suggestions to get the best out of your Whisky.

THE WHISKY GLASS
The glass you drink your Whisky from can be important. A whisky tumbler is often considered as the traditional whisky glass. A tumbler is fine if you are drinking a Malt which you already know you enjoy or if you are mixing the whisky into a long drink. However when tasting a Whisky for the first time a tumbler will not do the Whisky justice. The ideal glass for tasting is a tulip shaped glass, this allows the whisky to be swirled around the glass without spilling it, and a tulip shaped glass will also concentrate the aromas in the neck of the glass.
ADDING WATER
Whether or not you should add water to your whisky is entirely about personal taste. Many who drink their whisky neat say they do not want to spoil the taste by adding water to it.

However, there are just as many whisky drinkers who say that adding a touch of water, especially soft still spring water will enhance the aroma and flavour of a whisky and bring out the whiskies hidden characteristics. It is worth noting that tap water can contain high levels chlorine and would spoil rather than complement your whisky, if this is the case with your tap water it is best avoided.

The true lover of whisky will drink their whisky as the professionals do, with a little clear water. Adding a little water to whisky before drinking will prevent the strength of the whisky numbing your senses and reducing your enjoyment of the whisky. It is widely said that you should dilute your whisky with a fifth water. Everyone's tastes varies, so its worth adding just a little water at a time to see what you prefer. Having said all that I do agree that some whiskies are best without any water added.

ADDING ICE
Adding ice to your favourite single malt Scotch whisky is such a shame. Putting ice in your whisky will only reduce the temperature of the whisky, freezing its aroma and the smell, and will only dull the taste of the whisky. Many people do add ice, if you are one of them why not try it without, we assure you it will be like drinking a different whisky.

ADDING MIXERS
Adding mixers to single malt whisky is a very popular trend, but if you need to add mixers in the first place, you need to ask yourself why you bother drinking whisky at all? Mixers such as soda, ginger ale, lemonade and cola does nothing but cover up the true taste of whisky.

Although blended whiskies mixed with the right ingredients, can make a very refreshing long drink or cocktail.
